Biography

“I remember my first keyboard,” Steve said. “I was probably around 5 years old and my parents bought me a Casio keyboard and I thought it was the best thing ever. I was able to use different voicings and add beats. I was definitely one cool cat.”

At the age of 7, Steve entered the doors of his local church one evening and heard the pipes roaring throughout the enormous chapel. Intrigued, he just had to find the source of this beautiful music. Steve and his mother walked up to the balcony to get a better listen. When the song was over, his mother and the organist started talking about how Steve loved the music. After a brief conversation they found out he gave piano lessons. That’s when it all began.

A couple years later, Steve began to study under Paul Di Dario (Bachelors and Masters degree in Music from The Julliard School in New York) and he stuck with Paul for many years. With his new piano instructor, he was able to develop his skill in not only classical music, but also music theory.

Steve took a couple master lessons from Alexander Peskanov and was involved with the Piano Olympics. Mr. Peskanov has appeared internationally with orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic, as well as in the United States with the Baltimore, St. Louis, Houston, Utah, Richmond and Pacific Symphonies.

When Steve got closer to graduating high school, he took on a new interest with the piano… composition. He started taking lessons specifically for composition which helped him develop tremendously. Soon he was off to college where his music took to the back burner. Although still involved with his college’s music program where he received a minor in music, he was focusing more on his academics.

Steve graduated college in 2003 and since then has been able to produce 4 albums: The Night’s Magic, The Magic of Disney, A Christmas to Remember, and The Day’s Glory.
